Leticia and Mariella, Cutler, California

Leticia and her family are new to Cutler. She and her husband rent this property and are fortunate to have their water supply from the city. She explained how those who live in the city have city water and are being charged more for their usage while those in the country rely on independent wells for their water and either have, or are, running out.

She noted that those in rural county areas want to incorporate with the city in an effort to share the water resources. However, people in Cutler are against that idea as they're worried about their own resources depleting.

She keeps her flowers alive and lawn green by watering them with the recycled water used to wash laundry. She asked her husband to install a hose on the washing machine that redirects the used water to different areas of her lawn throughout the week.
